Photobiomodulation Therapy
Cold low level laser Therapy
Photobiomodulation Therapy: a light source is placed near or in contact with the skin, allowing the light energy (photons) to penetrate tissue where it interacts with chromospheres located in cells resulting in photophysical and photochemical changes that lead to alterations at the molecular and cellular and tissue levels of the body.
In recent years, Photo biomodulation or low-level laser Therapy has gained significant attention for its potential to promote health, healing and overall well-being. At Fayo Natural Healing, we are proud to offer cutting-edge photobiomodulation Therapy that harnesses the power of light to enhance cellular function and support optimal wellness.
How Photobiomodulation Therapy Works
- Vasodilatation allows inflammation, swelling, and oedema to be cleared away from injury sites more effectively.
- Vasodilatation in lymph nodes promotes lymphatic drainage, which also aids in the healing process. Basic research has demonstrated that PBMT can decrease the pro-inflammatory cellular response factors and increase the anti-inflammatory response.
- Photons (light energy): enter the tissue and interact with the cytochrome C complex within mitochondria. This interaction triggers a biological cascade of events that increases cellular metabolism, which can decrease pain and accelerate the healing process.
- When cells are stressed, nitric oxide (NO) inhibits oxygen consumption by mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase. This reduces the production of ATP and causes oxidative stress leading to increased inflammation and reduced production of ATP.
- PBM displaces “NO” from cytochrome c oxidase, thereby reducing inflammation and restoring ATP production, helping tissues heal more quickly.
Treatment session
Photobiomodulation (PBM) Therapy: improves tissue repair and reduces pain and inflammation wherever the beam is applied. Treatments take only a few minutes and can be applied twice or more weekly.
Benefits of Photobiomodulation (PBM) Therapy
➜ Stress and anxiety replaced by feelings of well-being.➜ May support recovery from traumatic brain injuries.
➜ Helps improve sleep quality.
➜ Enhances concentration and mental clarity.
➜ Supports healthy digestion and elimination.
➜ Increases energy and motivation.
➜ Supports neurological health, including Parkinson's disease.
➜ May help support cognitive function associated with Alzheimer's disease.
➜ Strengthens and supports the immune system.

PBM is Safer and More Effective
Over 400 clinical PBM randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and more than 4,000 laboratory studies have been published. Research has shown that Photobiomodulation Therapy is a safe, non-invasive treatment that can help reduce inflammation, relieve pain, promote tissue healing, reduce muscle fatigue, minimise muscle damage, and decrease Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS).
Results
Clinical studies have demonstrated that PBM Therapy can significantly reduce inflammation—often comparable to or better than NSAIDs within two hours. Pain-relieving effects may last up to 48 hours, while healing times for chronic tendinopathies have been reported to improve by up to 70%.
